Weight watchers...

A couple of nights ago I watched a Channel 4 program about Weight Watchers and how the National Health spends a staggering £4 million a year on sending people to their classes.
Everyone seemed surprised that after initial success 75% of weight was regained.
What was interesting was that the program clearly showed that everyone attending Weight Watchers KNEW what they needed to do and fully understood the implications of their food choices and went ahead and regained all of the weight that they had spent hundreds of pounds trying to lose.
My personal view is that this is because anyone who is overweight isn't that way by mistake, lack of knowledge or ignorance.

We might eat for comfort, loneliness, boredom or to fill another emotional need, we don't overeat by accident or because we don't understand what we are doing.

If we start by repairing the emotional need, the rest is easy and we really will change our habits for life.

That is why at the Find, every thing starts with kindness, encouragement and enthusiasm, next we embrace movement and finding ways to love moving your body. Only then do we look at food and what fuel we need to achieve optimum health.

More about....

…me
This blog was always just meant to be a little inspiration for those on a weight loss journey or trying to maintain their size.
During moments of weakness, perhaps it is a place to find some kind words and strength if the world seems cold, harsh and unkind.
A few people who have come on the Bootcamp weekends have asked me to make it a little more personal and more importantly have offered to do some posts as a way of us all keeping in touch.
I did write a personal, very anonymous blog when I was finding life particularly tricky, and it was definitely cheaper and more effective than a therapist.
The only problem is that I enjoy leading a pretty dull life and didn’t have nearly enough interesting things to write about, eventually I started to bore myself so stopped about a year ago.
The inclusion requests vary from serving suggestions, diet journal, sports activities, fashion (agh! I live in sportswear), holidays and home.   Since I don’t have anyone who would (willingly) take pictures, it might be all a little rough around the edges.  But here goes nothing, I hope that this is OK….

A new arrival...

The Find has a new (black and white) arrival, and so no more Bootcamps until the Spring.

Dry your washing as part of your skincare routine..

If you have the central heating on most of the time during this cold spell, save energy, stop using your tumble dryer and hang everything on your radiators. Not only will it make every room smell divine, but it will prevent the havoc that the dry atmosphere causes to your skin.

Sensible eating advice...

This is great advice from Rosie at the Londoner....

The ANTI-DIET

And despite a diet of seemingly endless treats, she looks like this...
I like that the diet is not about deprivation and is very kind to the follower.

Martin Amis on comfort...

This is a quote from a recent post from Bourbon and Pearls  by far the most beautiful and erudite blog (and blogger) that is out there. She manages to weave Martin Amis and wispy lingerie together to perfection.
